TP-Link Archer C3150 V2 Manual AC3150 Wireless MU-MIMO Gigabit Router
TP-Link Archer C3150 V2 Manual – If you have used TP-Link routers Previously, this design will be familiar to you. It’s all black with a few small state lights that shouldn’t distract. The router has a flat, rectangular shape, which is easily mixed with its ornaments on a shelf or can be mounted on a wall.
The router is lightweight and the rear side has four gigabit LAN ports and a gigabit WAN port, which are easily accessible. The side has buttons to restart, Wi-Fi on/off and WPS, along with a 3.0 USB port and a 2.0 USB port for network storage, file sharing, a printer or mobile device load. Everything is well distributed and gives you convenient access when you need it.
TP-Link Archer C3150 V2 Manual – The four dual-band antennas have an average height, but they had a big impact during my tests. I’m going to discuss those numbers later. The only complaint I have is that they were a little “flexible”, which means that if you adjust them from one side to the other a few times they drop and fall. Even if you screw them tight, you might find this problem in the future.
One of the worries was that the configuration did not ask me if I wanted to check if there were firmware updates. You should always do this, especially with a new router. These updates will often have important security fixes, especially if the router is a few years old. Once the configuration is complete, upgraded the firmware manually by going to the Advanced tab, clicking System Tools in the left column, then clicking Firmware Update and searching for updates. Be sure to do this first, before customizing any settings, because the update will change everything back to the default setting.
TP-Link Archer C3150 V2 Manual – Here are some more tips. After updating the firmware, you will return to the Quick Setup tab. You don’t need to re-configure your router, just click on a different tab at the top of the screen and you can start customizing your settings. Also, be sure to scroll down and press save after changing any settings. If you click off the screen before you press Save, you will not be notified that your changes will not be saved.
The TP-Link Tether application is easy to use, especially for configuration, but does not offer too much in terms of customization of the router. You can perform basic tasks such as checking the status of your devices and speeds, managing your logon information, and using TP-Link HomeCare for quality of service and security. It would have been nice to have more options in the application, but you can always use a browser to change the other configurations, even from a mobile device.
The Archer C3150 V2 is full of features. Often, you will find that a router at this price point will miss some important things, but this router has it all.
TP-Link Archer C3150 V2 Manual – With the smart connection, the router will automatically place each device in the 2.4 GHz or 5GHz network, whichever has a better signal. The impartiality of the use time allows to accelerate the networks with connected old devices. The Archer C3150 V2 also includes MU-MIMO for simultaneous fast connections and beam formation to focus Wi-Fi directly on devices.
A rare extra in this router is the aggregation of links. This allows you to combine two gigabit LAN ports into a super-fast 2-gigabit-per-second (Gbps) port for wired devices. This will be useful if you have a network-attached storage device (NAS) that will be accessed from multiple devices. The router also has coprocessors for the 2.4 GHz and 5GHz bands, to help manage your network load.
